LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is available from this April 5, 2022 on all platforms and, although it is certainly the best LEGO game of all time, one of the options may grieve you a little. But where did the famous mumble mode go?
What is Mumble Mode?
Called Mumble Mode in French, Mumble Mode, as the name suggests, is how characters speak in LEGO Star Wars games. That is, they don't really speak but growl with different onomatopoeia. In the Skywalker Saga, all of the dialogue has been dubbed into several languages and, although we will greatly appreciate the quality of the dubbing, you may wish to either cut the voices or return to Mumble Mode. No worries, it is indeed possible.
How to turn off voice acting on LEGO Star Wars?
You have two options at the start of the game:
- Either mute the sound of the voices directly in the audio options (main menu of the title screen),
-
Either switch to Mumble Mode,
To enter Mumble Mode, you must launch an episode (any episode) and access your Holoprojector (down arrow on most controllers). Go to the "Extras" tab and then to the Datacards section. Although datamaps must be found in the open world to unlock options like the coin multiplier, the Mumble Mode option is available for free without having to spend anything.
Scroll through the different Datacards to finally find "mumble mode". Click to activate it and you will see that your characters now growl instead of talk.
