Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to look at how to find iron in order to craft ingots.
The mysterious shipwreck: Goofy asks for iron ingots!
One of the very first side quests requiring iron ingots is Goofy's quest called "The Mysterious Wreck". If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is a mission to unlock on an island on the left side of the Enchanted Beach (try walking where the water is a little clearer, you'll see that it is actually sand that lets you access a mini island). On the ground, you will find a wooden shovel which will trigger the quest with Goofy.
Once this shovel is recovered, Goofy will want to repair the mysterious shipwreck and will ask you for the following resources:
- 30 Hardwood (on the ground of the Bayou of Trust)
- 7 Rope (make fiber with seaweed)
- 25 Clay (you can find some in Trust Bayou by digging the ground)
- 10 Iron Ingot
Where to find iron and how to make ingots?
To craft iron ingots you will need to find... iron. The latter can be mined in the black rocks of certain biomes only. The easiest way is to unlock access to the Confidence Bayou area so you can pick up hardwood and clay as well.
- Take your pickaxe and mine the black rocks at the edge of the cliffs: coal, stone and iron will come out of it,
- Don't forget to choose a character whose profession is Extraction in order to double the chances of obtaining iron and gems.
Once you have your Iron in your pocket, head to a Workbench to craft an Iron Ingot (the recipe unlocks on its own as soon as you have picked up your first Iron):
- 5 Iron
- 1 Coal
