You are told where to find the Master Sword and how to remove it from its base in this guide. This is obviously a huge spoiler, hurry to turn around if you clicked on this item by mistake!

Heading to the Lost Woods

For the first step of this guide, you will have to go to the area behind Hyrule Castle. The best way to reach it is to start a ride from the forest relay at the foot of the volcano (west side). All you have to do is follow the path to the entrance of the lost woods.

Crossing lost woods

Lost woods are a very special area where a wind blows in and brings you back to the entrance if you don't follow the right method. The trick is obvious: with a lit torch, look in which direction the embers of the flame is heading, so just go in the direction of the wind.

Condition to tear off the sword

Once in the Korogu forest, we advise you to complete the sanctuary inside so that you can teleport at will. The sword is placed on a base in the centre of the village: to remove it, you will have to pass a force test that is equivalent to a drain of your vital energy. In concrete terms, you will have to manage to have 13 hearts in your life bar. There are several options available to you: finish the dungeons of the main quest, or spend your emblems collected in shrines only in life. If you have ever invested in endurance, there is nevertheless a hidden "re-specialization" option presented in this guide.

Usefulness of the sword

The master sword will help you in your fight against Ganon, it is also a central element of the game's scenario. You can pick it up at any time during your adventure, as long as you have passed the prelude tray, of course. If your inventory is full, the MS will be placed in a newly created location in your bag.
