Please note that all the places described in this guide are accessible as soon as you leave the tutorial area.

Step 1: Heading to Kakariko Village

At the beginning of the adventure, the main quest will very quickly ask you to go to the Kakariko Village. On the way, you will meet Hestu who will ask you to find his maracas stolen by a group of enemies, waiting a little further away. Get rid of the small fry (place yourself high up and drop a bomb in the middle of the group to start the fight properly), pick up the maracas and return them to their owner. As a reward, he will offer you to increase your inventory slot by slot in the category you want, in exchange for Korok seeds, knowing that the more you increase a category, the more expensive it will be. As a reminder, Korok seeds are the rewards of the little environmental puzzles you will find in every corner of Hyrule (there are 900 in total).

Step 2: The swamp relay

Once you have spent enough seeds, Hestu will return to look for his village and will therefore refuse to improve your inventory from the same place. You will have to find him: for his second stop, he will land at the swamp relay. The principle remains the same, you only need to spend many Korogu nuts to increase the number of equipment slots. After a few expenses, the scoundrel will go back on his way.

Step 3: Lost woods

To the far north are the great Hyrule forest and the lost woods. You will not be told in this article how to cross them without any problems (small clue: your torch is a compass), but once at the end, you will finally reach the Korok Forest. Search the area, you should quickly come across Hestu, who is still trying to fill his maracas with nuts. He will no longer move from this position, so you can come back to it regularly to spend your Korok seeds to expand your inventory, knowing that it will cost more and more seeds.
