Pokemon Sword and Shield Guide: Nutrient Drinks, Supplements

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, the functioning of nutrient drinks and supplements (Calcium, Zinc, Iron, etc.) has been modified. We tell you everything about these new changes.

We are able to enjoy many new features and rework of old mechanics in Pokémon Sword and Shield. This is the case with nutrient drinks, which are being redesigned to simplify the improvement of your Pokémon. This will make it easier to strengthen your team and create "unbeatable" Pokémon.

Reminder on nutrient drinks

Nutrient drinks are items that increase the base point or Effort Valures (EV) of a Pokémon. There are 6, one drink for every existing Pokémon statistic:

  • Calcium (Special attack)
  • Carbon (Speed)
  • Iron (Defense)
  • HP Up (Hit Points)
  • Zinc (Special Defence)
  • Protein (Attack)

Until now, their use has been limited to 10, per drink, per Pokémon.

Special mention

"PP max" and "PP plus" are not exactly nutrient drinks because they do not affect a Pokémon's basic statistics but rather its abilities. Their functioning has not changed and they are found with the rest of the nutrient drinks.

How does it work?

It will now be possible to maximize the base points of a Pokémon by using these objects. Their use no longer has any limitations. Use as much Zinc, Iron and HP as you want, to make a Pokémon almost indestructible! Be careful, as it's not free!

Where to find them?

In the Pokémon Center of Winscor, the last city of the game. You can buy them from the seller on the right who sells them for 10,000 Pokédollars/unit, no matter what type of drink you want.
