This is one of the first buildings you are going to be able to build in the Ravensthorpe settlement in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but it's also one of the most important. The Gunnar's blacksmithing shop will be used to push the limits of your equipment, in order to be able to further improve it and insert more power runes. The cost is fixed, but the weapons are much more expensive in resources than the pieces of armor: be prepared if you go in search of the famous ingots.
What resources are needed and where to find them
It's not very complicated: 3 resources are reserved exclusively for improving your pieces of gear, each for a step increasing the rarity and the potential of your stuff. Below is the list of these components and how to get them on the map.
This type of wealth is not necessarily in a chest: some enemies have it on them and it's even possible to come across it at the end of special and often very dangerous encounters. For the start of your game, we recommend that you pay attention to how you spend your nickel, especially if you are playing in a higher difficulty mode, the time to have a sufficient power level to be able to explore more zones.
Effects of quality improvement
As you can see in the image below, improving quality doesn't increase your gear's stats at all. However, this will add a valuable rune slot and push the maximum gear upgrade limit. For aesthetes, some quality increases will also change the look of the room.
Increase equipment statistics
This is the second type of equipment upgrade to consider and it's applicable wherever you are. In your inventory, point to the part you want to level up, a light pressure then allows you to see the cost before application.
- The leather may fail you at the start of the adventure, even when exploring properly: a little hunting should help you remedy this.
- As for iron, another resource necessary for leveling up, you should find a significant number of it along the cliffs of England.
Once the maximum rank is reached, you can then consider a quality increase as we saw a little above.
And it's all for the use of Gunnar's blacksmithing shop: it's a system much better highlighted than in the other franchise's games, thanks to the scarcity of the loot in general: if you intend to do the challenges the most difficult of the game, it's clearly a compulsory step.
