Cyberpunk 2077 mission I Fought The Law is an opportunity to get to know Elizabeth and Jefferson Peralez, and practice your investigative skills alongside River Ward of the NCPD.

Cyberpunk 2077: I Fought The Law quest Walkthrough: How to investigate

Among the various game mechanics present in Cyberpunk 2077, BrainDance is perhaps the most iconic. This new mission will be the opportunity to use it again. It becomes accessible after mission 21 "Life During Wartime".

You receive a call from Elizabeth Peralez inviting you to join the couple. Once installed in their car, agree to help them by analyzing the Braindance. We recommend that you watch it fully for the first time to familiarize yourself with it. Then rewind it and start looking for the clues it contains. There are 7 in total but only 3 are needed to continue the mission:

  • conversation of the mayor and his deputy in which the Red Queen's Race is mentioned (audio layer from 00:15)
  • the killer as he passes the security gate (visual layer 01:00)
  • surveillance screen near the gantry (visual layer 01:02)

Once the analysis is complete, the Peralez give you the coordinates of the inspector present in the Dance, River Ward. After calling him, meet him at Chubby Buffalo's. He suggests that you continue the investigation by meeting the boss of the killer and then an informer.

Christine markov

Follow Ward and meet the boss on the Japantown market side. Listen to her then find the inspector in his car. You find two Tyger Claws waiting for Ward. Let him settle the situation by not intervening. If you do, you will only be able to avoid the conflict if you play a Street Kid and select the exclusive line. You can also make the chicken in order to avoid conflict. Just knocking them out without killing them is also an option. Once this is done, River Ward offers to take you to meet his informant. You can follow it or decide to go later on your own. For example, you can take the opportunity to complete the Sweet Dreams mission.

The indicator

Meet at Vista Del Rey in the sex shop where the indic works. Open a dialogue until the latter tries to run away. Continue by forcing the door or breaking the glass pane. You can also leave the shop and catch up with him in the next alley. After questioning him, find Ward to travel to the Red Queen's Race.

Red Queen's Race

Its entrance is hidden in a container located in the middle of a warehouse guarded by Animals. To reach it, we advise you to favor infiltration. If you prefer to make the powder talk, you can benefit from Ward's support. Once you get to the container, enter it and take the stairs to descend to the Red Queen's Race. You encounter 2 enemies, one downstairs and one upstairs. Mark them and neutralize them. Then go through the door upstairs which leads into the hall. If you want, you can go downstairs to find the leader of the Animals. You can interview him to learn more about the case and then eliminate him. In any case, be careful to stay silent so as not to wake up other enemies who are sleeping nearby. Then go to the office behind the glassdoor to watch the video. Finally accept River's offer to leave the premises.

End of the mission

Ward takes you to the parking lot of Chubby Buffalo's where you have an explanation with Inspector Han. When the conversation is over, call Elizabeth Peralez and meet her at her apartment in Charter Hill. Ring the intercom, take the elevator, then sit down on the sofa to start the discussion. It doesn't really matter what explanation you give to the couple. If you want good rewards, say the mayor was killed with a braindance and the culprit is probably Holt. Once it is over, exit the building to end the mission.
