Iron Ore is the first-tier resource you'll need to level your Smelting Trade Skill in New World, and the veins it's sourced from are found all over Aeternum. Here are the best places to look.

Where to find Iron Veins for Iron Ore in New World

Iron Veins are a node found in the wilds of New World which players can mine for Iron Ore.

A dull brown color, they are plentiful in low-level territories.

Here's what you'll need and where the best areas are to find Iron Ore in New World.

What do you need Iron Ore for in New World?

A Tier I metal used in Smelting, mining Iron Veins will give you ore that is used used to create Iron Ingots. This is then used in a number of Armoring, Weaponsmithing, Engineering and Furnishing recipes.

In order to mine Iron Veins, you'll need a Mining Pickaxe. There's no level requirement to mine them, and you'll be able to track Iron Vein nodes from Mining Skill Lv. 25.

The best locations to farm Iron Ore in New World

Given it is the base ore, Iron is plentiful in Aeternum compared to other metals. These are the clusters we think are best for power-farming.

A trip around Monarch's Bluffs

One of the starting areas, Monarch's Bluffs is ideal for Iron Ore farming.

Starting by fast travelling into the Dreadscythe Shrine in the south, you can run a path all the way north along the mountain ridge, eventually ending up on the border of Everfall between Traitor's Hold and Alioth.

The upper reaches of First Light

Another low-level zone, there's a load of Iron Veins concentrated in the northwestern part of the territory.

You could fast travel into Cutlass Keys and then work your way east and south, taking in the Millberry Hills, Northfolk, Rattlevine Ridge and Light's Crown before heading to First Light Hamlet to refine your haul.

Up high in Everfall

This route could even be worked in as part of your Monarch's Bluffs farming path, given their proximity to one another.

Heading west from Everfall Hamlet into the Stonereach area (use the Perseus monument as a marker), you'll want to sweep northwest towards Ravenridge.

Taking in all the ridge will leave you close to Shadowmine Shrine for quick travel back to civilization.

Close to home in Mourningdale

Should you want a quick route that'll deliver a good few nodes, head to Mourningdale Hamlet. There's a bunch of nodes along a ridge just east of the town.

You could even start at the Shrine of Sisyphos south of the border in Restless Shore, as the ridge runs northwards from there in a relatively straight line.
