League of Legends S12: Aurelion Sol Mid Build Guide

Build

Crown of the Shattered Queen is a solid choice of Mythic for Aurelion Sol, offering health, AP, mana and ability haste. The Divine Safeguard passive is fantastic given his low mobility.

Shadowflame increases his damage output, especially against enemy champions and shielding.

Other good items include Zhonya's Hourglass and Morellonomicon.

Summoner Spells

These are the summoner spells most typically taken by Aurelion Sol in this role. Naturally, this may change depending on match-ups.

Gameplay

Aurelion Sol is all about dealing damage over time rather than burst damage, and is good at zoning due to his Celestial Expansion ability. However, he's slow and easily locked down, meaning you'll need to play patiently. 

• Level 1 - Take Q - Starsurge, for the move speed, area damage and stun. 
• Level 2 - Take W - Celestial Expansion, so you can begin to zone your lane opponent and farm more quickly.
• First Back - Pick up boots if you need more mobility. Otherwise, work towards your Crown.

Tips & Tricks

• The further you travel along Starsurge, the larger the explosion and stun. This spell can expand to the size of the entire lane, making it difficult to dodge.
• If you launch Starsurge then Comet of Legends, the star will follow you. It's then an easy combo to land on opponents. 
• Your Voice of Light ult is hard to land. Don't hesitate to use it to slow enemies behind you, or in a teamfight if one of the carries is immobilized. 
• You can quickly return to lane after recalling using Comet of Legend.
