Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the two new versions of the license, available since Friday November 18, 2022. While many trainers have already taken the plunge to discover the Paldea region, others are still a little reluctant because of bugs and performance drops reported on the networks. Is the proposed content at least worth it? You can discover our opinion in the full test but, in this article, we especially wanted to come back to the lifespan of the game.
A colossal lifespan?
This is an important question that many future players may ask themselves. Will a purchase between 40 and 60 euros (depending on the brand) offer you an equivalent duration of fun?
The answer is yes if you manage to ignore the graphics and fps drops.
How long for 100%?
In addition to offering a gigantic fully explorable open world, Pokémon EV stands out from other games with its 3 scenarios.
- In a straight line, without capturing all the Pokémon you come across, count a good 30 hours to overcome Team Star, Dominants and Arenas from the main storyline to the Pokémon League.
- Count 3 or 4 hours more for the post-game,
-
And of course... Ten or even twenty additional hours for the end-game and to complete your entire Pokédex (there are 400 Pokémon to capture).
Of course, it depends on the player and his ability to understand the table of types for example or his interest in exploring Paldea in every corner.
Especially since some additional activities can be quite time-consuming, such as attending Academy classes, hunting for shinys in Massive Apparitions or going in search of all Mordudor. Ditto if you have a penchant for online battles and Raids, the lifespan will ultimately be infinite.
