Like many games in the series, the Paldea Pokédex contains many species from previous generations of Pokémon games. In this new entry, we will see one of the pocket monsters that has landed on Pokémon Sword and Shield, the cute little Applin who drags his core through the forests of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Introducing Applin and where to find it
Present in the national Pokédex since the eighth generation , the Applin is of dragon and plant type and has two evolutions to be triggered with dedicated objects.
- Paldea's Pokédex Number : 108
- National Pokédex number : 840
- Type : Dragon and plant
How to upgrade Applin?
To evolve Applin, you'll need to level him up using the Tart apple evolution item to evolve him into Flapple, or a sweet apple to evolve him into Appletun.
Applin shiny: what does it look like?
It is very important to know what the Shiny forms of the Pokémon look like in these versions since no clues will be left on the screen: no little stars or shrill sound warning you like in Pokémon Legends Arceus. Of course, the color difference will probably jump out at you, but it's sometimes tricky in the case of Pokémon with light (hello Pikachu) or unknown chromatic forms.
- Instead of having a red apple, shiny Applin's body is a green apple.
The chance of finding a shiny is 1/4096 in the game. You can optimize this chance with the Chroma Charm (which is obtained once the entire Pokédex is completed) or the Taste Auras of the dishes you eat.
