In Valorant, just like in most team-based competitive games, communication is the key — but it doesn't mean you have to endure the voices, screams, and other lamentations from your teammates to understand them. Thanks to the ping system, you can actually communicate by targeting a spot on the map. However, let's face it, Valorant's ping system is far from containing the same options as League of Legends'.
While you can easily vehiculate several ideas or information to your team in League, Valorant is still lacking a non-basic ping system — and Riot Games understood it very well. As a consequence, they're planning to release an improved version in the near future.
A more complete system in the future
For the moment, the communication ping has only 4 commands:
- the basic ping to indicate a point
- ping to ask for help
- ping to signal a danger
- ping with a stopwatch to communicate with a duration
While this information is useful, the commands remain fairly minimalist. In the new system, there should be many other possibilities for communicating quickly. Among them, the way to make known the status of his ultimate skill, to indicate you're on your way and to ask for a rotation .
An intelligent location system
In addition to being more complete, the new system will also be smarter if we are to believe the indications left by a developer. It will indeed be able to automatically indicate more places, with generic names known to all.
It is indeed sometimes frustrating, during oral communications, not to understand each other because the players do not use the same terms. This is all the more true, as, on the Europe server, not everyone speaks the same language...
