The penultimate major Valorant tournament of the current season has come to a close, with Gambit Esports emerging victorious after beating Team Envy 3-0. The win secures their spot at the season-ending Valorant Champions, where they'll be among the favourites.

Their win places the EMEA region at the very top in the battle to be considered the world's best region. The CIS side went from low to high as the tournament went on, from struggling against 100 Thieves to total dominance in a one-sided final.

Gambit's favor to G2 Esports and Fnatic

Gambit's victory sees them head to Valorant Champions 2021 directly, without needing to rely on regional seeding. With three of these spots available, Fnatic now also qualify given only Acend could overtake them.

As such, one further spot remains for an EMEA side to join Gambit, Fnatic, and Acend at the season-ending showpiece.

This opens the door for G2 Esports, who will have to do battle with the likes of Team Liquid to win the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier. This takes place October 10-17.

Valorant Champions is the game's first world championship, with a total of 16 teams from across the globe.
