From the beginning of Valorant Act 3 scheduled for in a few days. Immortal players will realize that their individual score in game no longer influences the amount of elo won (or lost) in each game.
Only the final result of the game and the difference in rounds won between the two teams will determine the progress or downfall of the players. A change probably advanced following the realization that some of the players are abusing the combat score to win as much elo as possible in each game, even if it means reducing their team's chances of victory.
This kind of behavior is found more at the high level and it's normal that this change is first implemented for Immortal players as early as Act 3. If the figures collected by Riot Games are encouraging, this new way of granting elo could well be found at all levels.
