Cyberpunk 2077 delayed yet again, now December release

In a statement put out on the game's social media, Cyberpunk 2077 developers CD Projekt Red have announced that the game will be delayed by three weeks to December 10.

In explaining their decision, CDPR said that the biggest challenge was shipping Cyberpunk 2077 on several platforms at once - current-gen, next-gen, and PC. The developer cited nine different platforms for the game:

  • PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation 5
  • Xbox One X, Xbox One S, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S
  • PC
  • Google Stadia

You can see the full statement below.

This decision is likely to prove controversial, given accusations of crunch levelled at the Polish developer recently. With the delay adding more time to development, this is likely to increase the amount of crunch necessary to ensure the game is ready in time for all nine of those platforms.
