In October 2019, a mobile version of Apex Legends has been confirmed. The release date appears to have been delayed due to development delays. The health crisis that the world is currently experiencing is certainly to blame for this.
Nevertheless, it's likely that this version of the game will be available next year. At least, that's what Electronic Arts’ CEO Andrew Wilson said during the company’s quarter two financial results.
He has stated that the mobile version will be released in the 2022 fiscal year — corresponding to April 2021. If it's a success, the publisher hopes it will bring in $1 billion in net revenue every year.
Blake Jorgensen — EA Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer — also added: "Mobile grew year-on-year, again, and we’re excited about our new title slate for this platform, particularly Apex Legends and the soccer games."
We have no information on the exact release date or even if it will be cross platform. If not, Apex Legends Mobile will be more like Fortnite Mobile or PUBG Mobile : it will be a game on its own.
