Assassin's Creed Valhalla evokes COVID-19

Ubisoft slips a reference to the coronavirus pandemic in Assassin's Creed Valhalla through an email. It allows, at the same time, to inscribe the present of the assassins in the current global context.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla evokes COVID-19

Available tomorrow, Assassin's Creed Valhalla has gameplay phases outside the Animus, anchored in the present of the assassins.

Players can explore a small corner of the forest and interact with various equipment from their makeshift base. Inside, a computer is available for consultation, with regular messages from the heroine's entourage.

Reference to COVID-19

From the very first emails, a reference to the health crisis that is currently hitting the world is slipped in — as a reminder that everything we're experiencing right now will eventually be written in the history books.

If the scenario wants to be anchored in reality, it will be difficult to miss this major event. This email is probably the first evocation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to confine yourself in an AAA game.
