Shortly after hiring André Guilhoto to their coaching staff, North American League of Legends franchise Immortals are reportedly hiring jungler Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir to their League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) roster for 2021, per Esportmaniacos' Pablo "BloopGG" Suárez.
The move would reunite Xerxe with Guilhoto, as the pair shaped Origen's fortunes in 2020. During the spring split, Xerxe's proactivity allowed Origen to bulldoze their competition on their way to third place, and the lineup seemed poised to wreak further havoc during the summer split. Instead, due to countless individual misplays across the board, the team instead ended dead last in the summer split, despite showing solid knowledge of the necessary steps to win games.
With Xerxe's contract expiring and Origen rebuilding as they rebrand into Astralis, all signs have pointed towards a parting of ways as Astralis seeks to rebuild its roster from scratch. As for the player, the move would allow him to play at the top echelon of competitive League of Legends, albeit away from Europe where openings are limited, bar transfers before contracts expire.
The jungler's departure to North America also reunites him with former positional coach and analyst Paul "Malaclypse" Decsi, allowing the two sides to better gauge the task at hand as Immortals rebuild. The North American organization has one more import spot available to bolster the lineup should they need it, although the team is seeking to take a talent development approach. No other move is known at the time of writing.
