Korean League of Legends support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok has joined T1 for the 2021 season. The team announced the news on its social media accounts, one day after free agency started worldwide.
T1 have performed the first major roster change of the offseason, scoring one of the best available supports in free agency despite having Lee "Effort" Sang-ho under contract. The news may mean the end of the player's tenure within T1's LCK squad unless he fills in as a regular substitute, should he opt to remain on the team.
The Keria signing raises expectations across the board for T1, who struggled in the 2020 LCK summer split and failed to qualify to the World Championship as they lost to Gen.G 3:0. The team experimented with its lineup during that split, promoting mid laner Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon over Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok during the season, and AD carry Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong during the regional qualifier.
The mechanically sharp support emerges from a relatively successful rookie season in the LCK, as he helped DRX to a third-place finish in the 2020 LCK spring split, then improved to second-place in the 2020 LCK summer split. The team then proceeded to the World Championship, where they reached the quarterfinals before stumbling against eventual champions DAMWON Gaming 3:0.
