The European League of Legends side have decided that a radical overhaul of their roster is necessary, following a first-round playoffs elimination in Summer 2020.
The German org is bringing in jungler Kristian "TynX" Østergaard Hansen, Jean "Jezu" Massol, Ersin "Blue" Gören, and Erik "Treatz" Wessén .
Only toplaner Janik "Jenax" Bartels remains from last season's squad.
TynX joins from French side LDLC OL, with Jezu following from fellow LFL org Misfits Premier. Blue arrives from Turkish side 1907 Fenerbahçe, while Treatz heads back to Europe after a stint in the LCS with TSM.
A surprise is the release of Slovenian ADC Juš "Crownshot" Marušič, considered a good prospect in the European scene. It remains to be seen where he, along with Korean jungler Kim "Trick" Gang-yun, midlaner Dirk "ZaZee" Mallner, and support Dino "LIMIT" Tot will end up.
The 2021 SK Gaming roster in full:
None of the four new signings have played in LEC before now, so the move represents a great risk for SK Gaming.
However, Treatz is a reigning LCS champion with TSM with experience on the Worlds stage, while Blue tasted victory in the TCL Winter Playoffs.
