League of Legends: Bang, Lehends join Afreeca Freecs for 2021 LCK season

Afreeca Freecs have scored a huge move in the offseason as they have claimed Bae "Bang" Jun-sik and Son "Lehends" Si-woo from free agency, pairing them in the bot lane for 2021.

League Champions Korea (LCK) franchise Afreeca Freecs has signed AD carry Bae "Bang" Jun-sik and support Son "Lehends" Si-woo to their lineup ahead of the 2021 League of Legends season. The team announced the signings on social media, locking a starting lineup with solid firepower.

Bang and Lehends emerge from relatively disappointing seasons despite solid career showings, as Bang's Evil Geniuses failed to reach the 2020 World Championship, and as Lehends's Hanwha Life Esports failed to deliver strong results in 2020. However, the two players showed solid form despite their circumstances.

Additionally, both players have significant achievements under their belts, at different orders of magnitude. Indeed, Lehends' 2019 World Championship quarterfinal berth pales in comparison with Bang's 2015 and 2016 World Championship victories, and to a finals placing in the 2017 Worlds tournament.

The two players join lineups with huge solo lane threats, as Kim "Kiin" Ki-in and Song "Fly" Yong-jun proved reliable and flexible in 2020, at times exchanging roles as matchups allowed. In addition, jungler Lee "Dread" Jin-hyeok has been promoted as a fulltime starter after Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon stepped away from playing to focus on coaching the academy lineup.
