The Games Awards were hosted yesterday and League of Legends sure put on a show.

League of Legends get best esports game of the year award

This year again, the Game Awards crowned the best games, scores or studios but also the best Esports games, and this year it's League of Legends that was crowned Best Esport Game.

The other nominees were Fortnite, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, and Call of Duty.

The Game Awards also voted for the best Esport event won by Worlds 2020. The best esport host of the year was given to Eefje "Sjokz" Depoortere, host for the LEC, and the best esports athlete went to Heo "Showmaker" Su, midlaner of DAMWON Gaming.

G2 Esports received the best Esport team of the year, putting Riot Games at the center of the spotlights for a few categories.
