The nine second trailer from VALORANT at the Summer Games Fest showed little — just a slow pan and a zoom on an incomplete robot.
However, fans were quick to point out that the location was actually Killjoy's lab. It feels like we've had a few teasers from there recently.
This theory was all but confirmed as VALORANT's Twitter accounts had their profile picture, name, bio and banner photo all changed to that of Killjoy; it has since returned to the admins' control.
During this time, 'Killjoy' posted a variety of tweets which seemed to show teasers, as well as some chill music. A text conversation with Brimstone and a concert selfie seem harmless enough, but fans are focusing on the Alarmbot image.
The Alarmbot image comes with the caption "Variable removed. Alarmbot down" which points to the new Agent being able to disable other Agents' abilities; something which I suggested around the Grenadier leak.
However, it goes deeper. Some fans believe that this robot could be KILLJ-O1 the mechanical soldier, which was Killjoy's original design during development.
With the recent DUALITY trailer showing the existence of Mirror Earth, some say that the robot is the missing Agent 8, a robot sent to Mirror Earth to help combat the mirror agents. With the new agent being teased on the Breeze map, it is thought that they could return using the map's teleporter.
For now, all we can do is wait, as the new Agent is due to drop in Episode 3; so it could be a while before we find any more information.
The next character to come to VALORANT will be Agent 16, currently codenamed Grenadier. They might not necassarily be coming soon, but we know they're on their way. Here is what we know.
