These Assassin's Creed Valhalla issues could be fixed with the next update

The team behind Assassin's Creed Valhalla has just announced what issues could be addressed in the game's next update (1.3.0). This patch is expected to be released during summer, but this could be changed in the near future.

How important are the upcoming changes? Well, pretty much when you consider that most of them have to do with annoyances that could stop your progress with certain quests or events.

For example, the latest free update introduced a new trial mode called “Mastery Challenge”. To enter its challenges, you need to interact with some shrines located across the land. However, there’s currently a bug in which Eivor can be stuck while interacting with one of these objects.

Another frustrating situation has to do with The Banshee World Event. This event, which has The Grieving Man as the protagonist, requires Eivor to travel to the southern edge of Essexe, just east of Wulfaswic. Nevertheless, depending if you are lucky or not, you won’t be able to speak with this man once he’s in front of you. And if you can’t do that, well, you can’t start the quest. Even worse, it’s also reported that some players couldn’t talk back to him after completing the objective, leaving the quest incomplete.

Below is the full list of problems that will be addressed with the next update:

Mastery Challenge

  • Eivor remains stuck in animation after interacting with the first shrine.
  • Workaround: Reload latest manual / quick save.

Main Quests

  • The Abbot's Gambit – Cannot interact with NPCs in the Inn.
  • Workaround: NPC will become available after performing a save/load or advancing the time via Mediation.

World Events or side activities-related issues:

  • The Banshee World Event: Cannot be started or completed.
  • Workaround: Leave the area (around 100m) and come back.

Wrath of The Druids - Expansion 1

Courting the Kings:

  • Unable to collect the prison key.
  • Unable to collect King's Pass.

Also, there are other issues that are being investigated at the moment, with no approximate date of solution. These, again, have to do mostly with progression. For instance, a gold medal in Cavella’s Raven could become unobtainable after bothering some random soldiers. Or even some quests from Wrath of the Druids, the first expansion that was released last month, have issues regarding contracts: some of them actually disappear when you die.

Here are the rest of the fixes for the future:

  • A Little Problem / Man's Best Friend ability not unlocked after completing the quest.

Mastery Challenge

  • Gold medal cannot be obtained anymore in Cavella's Raven trial if the player entered in conflict with the last soldiers on the bridge.
  • Workaround: Restart the trial after being detected and put the last guards to sleep twice.

Wrath of The Druids - Expansion 1

  • Contracts may disappear from your quest log if you die and reload.
  • Workaround: Rebooting the game should solve this issue.

Main Quests

  • A Brewing Storm / Duel with Dag doesn’t trigger.

World Events or side activities-related issues:

  • Milk of Humankind / Audumbla is unable to move.

General issues

Players may fall through the map in a cave near Anlaf's Lookout.

  • Potential Workaround: Fast travel away if you get stuck.

Avenge quests are difficult to spot.

  • Workaround: Follow the steps gathered by u/TheeElf on Reddit. We want to thank our various community members for coming together to find a workaround for this.

After downloading Update 1.2.2 players are unable to interact using custom control schemes.

  • Workarounds: Reset schemes to default and reassign the interaction button with another one that is not used for any other direct action.
