Hideo Kojima doesn't agree with the term "Director's Cut" for the new version of Death Stranding

Death Stranding Director's Cut is releasing next September. However, its creator would have used another name for this updated version.

A few hours ago, Hideo Kojima, one of the most important minds behind the franchise Metal Gear and Death Stranding, said a few words about the “Director’s Cut” etiquette.

For those who didn’t know, an updated version of Death Stranding is launching on September 24. This version, called “Director’s Cut” will be the arrival of Norman Reedus’ adventure on PS5, featuring technical improvements and new content.

However, Hideo Kojima tweeted that he actually doesn’t agree with this release being called a “Director’s Cut”. He briefly explains how the term is used regarding movies —basically, a version that is different from the one released, for a couple of reasons. The creator states that all the new content has been developed after the launch of the game, so the etiquette doesn’t make sense.
