As The Walking Dead series will come to an end with the twelfth and final season, Norman Redus, the actor playing the taciturn Daryl Dixon in the series, spoke in an interview with leoedit . He speaks there in particular of his career but especially of his future projects and dropped like a hair on the soup that the sequel to Death Stranding was already in the pipes.
An unexpected announcement
If the actor talked a lot about The Walking Dead, his new book, The Ravaged, or his series of motorcycle trips Ride, a question was asked to him about Death Stranding. If the interviewer mentioned the title released in 2019, Reedus, he dropped a little bomb.
This isn't the first time the actor has spoken about a potential sequel. Last August in an interview with IGN Brasil , he said he thought a second Death Stranding was on the way and that negotiations were currently underway. This was in particular following his remarks in 2020 where he said that he could participate in another project with Hideo Kojima.
It should also be remembered that after the release of Death Stranding in November 2019, Kojima had also expressed the wish to work again with Norman Reedus, but starting from scratch.
Already a reaction from Hideo Kojima
Following this revelation, the father of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima also spoke on his Twitter account – not without humor . We can see in his post a series of shots showing him with Norman Reedus, all tinged with references to The Walking Dead. Like Negan (played on screen by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), he seems to want to punish his friend for letting go of the information.
To this he added the phrase: “Go to your private room, my friend“ , which could indeed refer to the universe of Death Stranding — and more precisely to the room where the character of Sam Porter Bridges rests in the Game.
Certainly, Hideo Kojima does not confirm anything but his tweet seems to go in the direction of the declaration of Norman Reedus. So Death Stranding 2 or not, we will have to wait a bit to know the end of the story. In the meantime, you can still play the first game, including the Director's Cut version available since March 30, 2022 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
