Akshan will be joining League of Legends with the introduction of patch 11.15m which will be release on July 22. He'll be arriving with a risky mechanic that will allow this powerful sentry capable of resurrecting allies fallen in combat, as long as specific of conditions are met.
Riot's Plan B to Control Akshan
One of the main issues with this new character's mechanics will be the difficulty to balance it. His Resurrection ability could possibly permanently limiting this champion's power, and if it's too powerful, there don't seem to be any easy way to adjust it. However, it seems that Riot Games has found the solution for possible issues before the champion has even made an appearance.
The solution lies in the mobile version, Wild Rift. Due to the duration of the games the developer decided to limit this mechanic — and Riot Games has communicated that Akshan will not be able to resurrect allies, however his passive will reduce allies' respawn time.
Riot Games has been experimenting a lot recently — the introduction of unique mechanics that add new layers of difficulty has been declared as one of the design keys by the developer to keep the game attractive. Akshan will be ground-breaking, adding risks that may have to be moderated at some point. The playable tests have gone well according to the developer, resolving doubts about the new champion, however they are prepared to make changes if needed.
