Shen
He's been a top lane terror for years, able to flip a trade in bot or mid lane a game with his Ultimate — and that's even more true today. Because, unlike the other toplaners who have greatly suffered from the changes made to Teleportation, Shen now has a very clear advantage: the ability to teleport to an allied lane from level 6 (thanks to his Ultimate), before return like a flower to his lane by using Teleport on his tower. And this, without his vis-à-vis not being able to do anything about it …
Since the start of Season 12, the ninja has only suffered a very slight nerf which has in no way affected his success. With a win rate of 53.3% , his success is blatant and yet quite unknown - since Shen inherits a popularity rate of around 6% . Rammus
Rammus has always been one of the strongest champions in League of Legends, but his lack of competitive appearances seems to have rendered him invisible to Riot Games. It is not very appealing to players although it turns out to be one of the more interesting options in the jungle. Thanks to his movement speed and his control skills, the Rift Bowser can turn the early game into real hell for the opposing team - if he is followed.
Because, it is clear that Rammus is very often seen as a counterpick , especially against Master Yi or certain Skirmishers. In the rest of the cases, we tend to forget it. With 2.9% popularity, he is one of the least played champions in the Rift, although he inherits a more than respectable victory rate of 51.8%,
Kayle
It's hard to miss the Seraph of the Rift (do you have it?) because it's no secret that Kayle has if not at least one of the most powerful late-games in the game - thanks to his passive. However, in a meta hyper shutdown, which greatly favors turnarounds and scaling compositions (in the sense that a single mistake can cost the game to a composition centered on the early/mid game), it finds its perfect square.
Admittedly, given the top lane meta, K ayle risks having a bad time during the first minutes of the game , demanding an almost constant presence from his jungler. But, if played carefully up to level 11, it can then unleash a terrible power against which most players seem completely helpless.
It will however be necessary to arm oneself with patience, playing passivity for long minutes, before finally deploying a gigantic aggressiveness coming to abuse its absurd damage as well as the safe conduct provided by its Ultimate. If there's one champion you should never give up with, it's Kayle. The proof with a simple statistic: if on average she inherits a victory rate of 52.9%, for a correct popularity of 5.1%, Kayle sees her victory rate explode from the 45th minute, to reach 100%. .
Kog'Maw
When you have a skill that inflicts damage based on the target's maximum hit points, no opponent seems unbeatable – and this is precisely the case with Kog'Maw. Very largely forgotten by the League community, in particular due to a passive that has seemed completely unsuitable for years, the Crouching Maw of the Abyss has an extremely low popularity rate (1.9%) while its victory rate denotes with some success (52.9%).
Admittedly, the two stats affect each other, and we can imagine that his win rate could take a hit if he were played more. Worse still, in the current meta, Kog'Maw doesn't have much going for him: apart from his outrageous DPS allowing him to smash any target with a few spits, he nevertheless inherits a rather dilapidated kit, lacking of the least mobility skill. However, it is an option that few consider while it offers real advantages.
Indeed, when well accompanied, Kog'Maw can unleash hell on the opposing team. All it takes is a Nami, a Lulu, a Renata Glasc, or more generally an Enchanter capable of simplifying its survival to make the Maw of the Abyss a damage submachine gun on steroids.
Sona
It's hard to understand what's really going on with Sona. The champion has established herself for a few months as one of the most powerful supports in the game – without the community really paying attention to it, or Riot deigning to take care of her. Although she is only selected in 3.4% of the games, the Rift musician inherits a not disgusting victory rate of 52.8% – and for good reason. Whether it's thanks to her extremely versatile skill set, or the efficiency of her Ultimate in the engage or disengage phases, Sona has many tools that allow her to make the botlane much easier to play.
In fact, generally speaking, Harp Virtuoso is extremely easy to play — which naturally makes it a quality choice for most players, as its simple mechanics allow for focus on other elements.
