When you follow the North American League of Legends scene a bit, you never get bored. Not to mention big dramas, there are regularly little crazy things, each more absurd than the other. From a distance, we enjoy the show by eating this news like popcorn.
This time, it's a Cloud9 player who finds himself in the sauce. He made a banal, but very annoying dumpling ... His team might have to do without him for the start of the Summer Split . Even if his blunder makes you smile, it could have serious consequences. But as the saying goes, it's better to laugh than cry.
Mom I missed the plane !
The player in question is Cloud9's Korean ADC Kim " Berserker " Min-cheol. Aged 19, he is the only survivor of the "Korean colony" after the departures of Summit, Winsome and LS. This former T1 Academy player has been praised by the community for his mechanics and his level of play. passport . Currently at home in South Korea, he could therefore not return to American soil without his identity document.
The LCS Summer Split resumes on June 17 and the time frame seems relatively short to find a solution in time. We are not immune to the player finding his passport, but otherwise he will have to redo one and the procedure is more or less rapid depending on the country and the efficiency of their administration. In any case, it is surely behind the schedule provided by the structure and it is not ideal to prepare for the second part of the season. The latter promises to be decisive, since it is the Summer Split that determines who participates or not in the Worlds at the end of the year.
Without Berserker, how?
If Berserker can't make it back to the United States in time, Cloud9 will need to find a way to field a competitive team in his absence. Several paths naturally emerge:
- Raise an ADC from the Academy team : Calvin " k1ng " Truong or Michael " Wixxi " Fernandez
- Giving the job to Zven : the Dane has officially changed his role to Support. But we imagine that he still has leftovers and that he could troubleshoot his old favorite role without any problem... In this case, support Mitchell " Destiny " Shaw must be promoted from the academic team.
The situation is funny and several members of the community have made montages for fun. Obviously, there is nothing substantiated but for the joke, some have made up a theory that Zven hid Berserker's passport to regain his tenured position as ADC.
According to LCS Eevee, Cloud9 would ultimately rely on a more " radical " solution. Rather than playing a mixed roster with no sense whatsoever, the team would have decided to bet on a very academic roster (Darshan, k1ng and Destiny) while waiting for the entire main roster to be available.
