Diablo Immortal is not in the odor of holiness with a large part of its community, and even when the publisher tries to be generous, the maneuver ultimately turns against it ... This weekend, Blizzard wished celebrate the 10 million downloads of the game worldwide, with a small package of free rewards, distributed to all players who are already launched in the adventure.
The catch is that the awards sparked a wave of mockery on social media. Instead of appease the ambient dissatisfaction on the drop rates.
The celebration: commonplace on mobile games
In most free mobile games with optional microtransactions and gatchas, publishers do not hesitate to shower their players at the slightest anniversary of the game, a milestone or a server failure. Every time the studio celebrates something (or wants to make amends for something), it's the jackpot.
On Genshin Impact for example, the lesser maintenance period is compensated by large amounts of primo-gems (the "premium" currency on the miHoyo game, editor's note) directly in the mailbox of the players.
On Dragon Ball Legends, each birthday sparking characters are "guaranteed" through celebration events.
A gift equivalent to 1h30 of usual farming
To celebrate 10 million downloads, Blizzard offered each player 300 incuses. That's just enough to buy a rare emblem, which can be farmed in free to play in one to two hours, absolutely. It's better than nothing, but we're far from the super generous gift.
