When we started to see the term "spoon" flourish on the Diablo Immortal subreddit, we first thought it was a colorful term, to talk about farming in the game. Then we fell on this video, of a guy who explains - not without a wave to the soul - how to endlessly farm on Diablo Immortal with a teaspoon, stupidly placed on the touch screen of his smartphone.
This is where we have, so to speak, fallen from above. It's like botting... But it's homemade!
A 100% artisanal farming macro
In the video that set the powder on fire, the youtubeur DM Diablo Immortal reveals a simple but effective farming technique, which is based on the crazy synergy between a spoon and a touch screen. All you have to do is extend your phone, then place the back of a spoon on the attack button for your character to hit the indicated location in a loop.
All that remains is to stand in front of a spawn of mobs, in the alcove of the Library, then farm them in a loop. While being AFK. As if by magic, the simple teaspoon turns into an artisanal auto-clicker .
Should we hotfix the spoon way too OP?
Under its burlesque tunes, this method of farming has proven itself. It is "simple" to set up, and works even when you are AFK. Except, of course, that's not how Diablo Immortal is supposed to play. Many other mobile gatcha games provide users with an "automatic" run feature, but this is not the case with DI.
In his video, DM Diablo Immortal criticizes Blizzard for not having thought of this scenario. A simple line of code would however suffice to disconnect players who remain immobile for more than a certain time and on the same action loop.
More seriously ; the publisher could apply a patch in the coming days prohibiting this type of farming method. We advise you NOT to use it, in order to protect yourself from any risk of banishment.
