Respawn Entertainment gives us a new look at the current state of Apex Legends. This time, they decided to come back to 6 essential points:
Hit registration
After several attempts, Respawn announces that they have been able to correct many incidents related to incorrect hit registration. The next patch will therefore correct the mismatches between the way the game client and server pose characters in their animations.
Nevertheless, not all problems related to the handling of moves will be solved, and it is possible that other bugs may persist, but Respawn will do its best to fix them as soon as possible.
Fortified bug
The addition of the passive asset "Fortified" that gives 10% damage reduction came up with a lot of bugs. Available on Gibraltar and Caustic, it will be fixed in the next patch.
Slow mo at start of match
Problem existing since the beginning of Apex Legends, Respawn first reviews the progress of the bug mentioned in their last update before adding additional information:
"We are continuing to profile our servers to catch hitches, persistent slow-mo, and other game quality issues. We have a few server optimizations rolling out but there are many more areas of work left and as we identify these, we will be rolling out optimizations and fixes and keeping players updated."
Audio
Two areas will be addressed:
- Overall audio performance
- Footsteps audio
Further improvements are to come, details will be available in the notes of the next update. Respawn thanks all players who report bugs, which greatly helps them in their resolution.
Piggy-backing
This phenomenon, which is becoming more and more prevalent, consists of inviting oneself into a squad and leaving the team to finish the game in order to obtain the end-of-game rewards.
After several returns from players, Respawn will remain vigilant against this kind of practice and temporarily ban users of this technique. For the time being, this is a warning that they will soon put in place if the problem persists.
PS4 crashes after 1.0.8 update
While Respawn wanted to do the right thing by doing a small PS4 update for the PlayStation Store, the addition of the new skins and rewards had a more than negative impact. Indeed, Lifeline's "Pick Me Up" banner is a source of crashes, all caused by:
- If you've earned the Banner Card and hover over it in the customization menus.
- Viewing your Banner Card, squadmate's, or the champion's banner in the intro or on the in-world screens.
- Inspecting someone who has the card equipped by right-clicking a friend in the lobby.
Respawn deployed a partial fix by disabling the Banner and will be fully resolving the issue in the next patch.
