The choice of wand is an essential step in the life of any wizard, although it is typically the wand that chooses its wizard.
Before you start, it is important to understand that the wand is an item in its own right, and that a number of characteristics can influence its power and the bond that unites you.
To access the creation of your wand in Harry Potter Wizards Unite, click on your character icon at the bottom left of the screen. Then, simply click on the space where no wand is yet registered.
You will then be able to choose between all the different types of wood that exist, add the heart of the stick (unicorn for example), and define its flexibility and size.
The choice of wood for your magic wand
This is not a simple choice. In the Harry Potter universe, J.K. Rowling has been careful to ensure that each element used influences the life of a wizard.
For example, depending on your birthday, the effect of the chosen wood can be strong! If you want a super-powerful wand, follow this calendar:
- If you were born between December 24 and January 20: Birch
- From January 21 to February 17: Rowan
- From February 18 to March 17: Ash
- From March 18 to April 14: Alder
- From April 15 to May 12: Willow
- From May 13 to June 9: Hawthorn
- From June 10 to July 7: Oak
- From July 8 to August 4: Holly
- From August 5 to September 1: Hazel
- From September 2 to September 29: Vine
- From September 30 to October 27: Ivy
- From October 28 to November 24: Reed
- From November 25 to December 23: Elder

The core of the wand
Once you have chosen the wood, you must define your core. You can choose between:
- Dragon Heartstring: powerful and easy to use, but can sometimes cause accidents.
- Unicorn Hair: for a very faithful wand without any unpleasant fluctuations.
- Phoenix Feather: for a wide range of magical abilities.
Size and flexibility
Last but not least, two important elements to consider for your wand to be unique: its size and flexibility.
Ideally, the size should be proportional to your own size, but long wands often correspond to wizards with strong personalities. The average is between 8.6 and 13.7 inches.
As for flexibility, it symbolizes above all the ability to adapt to change. The harder a wand is, the straighter you are in your boots — but that doesn't mean you're closed-minded, you're just full of conviction!
There you go — your new wand is complete!
