Valorant is still full of mysteries just a few months away from its release. Many questions remain unanswered for a community that is largely enthusiastic about laying hands and experiencing the first few minutes of in-game gameplay. Today it's Qwixzo — a YouTuber belonging to the IGN-Benelux network — that has delivered his video full of information about Riot Games' FPS. He was present at the game's play-test and here is a list of the main information he highlights.
Please keep in mind that some of this information may not be final since the game will only be released this summer and a lot of changes can be made between the play-test and the official release. RiotZulu was quick to react to Reddit saying that some of the information presented in the video wan't entirely accurate.
- They will offer a lot of free items while proving a shop with several cosmetics — like in League of Legends.
- There is a battle passe system with rewards, as we know it — even if Riot Games doesn't call it that since it seems to be free.
- These rewards are obtained by gaining experience with an agent.
- An example is taken with Jett. The player can reach 10 levels by playing with her. Each of these levels unlocks an item for your agent.
- You can get all the cosmetics for free if you play a lot.
- Agents have missions to complete that give in-game currency — to buy items.
- These missions should consist of making eliminations, damages, or using your ultimate abilities.
- Some missions are free, others can be purchased with Riot Points.
- For the moment cosmetics are mainly weapon skins — but not hero skins.
- Qwixzo says that Valorant should come out with 12 available agents.
- There will be "Urf" weapon skins in reference to League of Legends.
- Valorant shouldn't have lootboxes.
- There will logically be a ranked mode, which won't be available from launch, but rather towards the end of the year.
- From Iron to Challenger, the ranking system in Valorant will be similar to League of Legends in terms of divisions.
