Just picked up Jax and Wild Rift and need a few pointers? Fear not, all you need to do is read on for our guide on the Grandmaster at Arms and you'll be dominating the toplane in no time at all.

Runes

Conqueror

Gathering Storm

Spirit Walker

Mastermind

Jax is an excellent 1v1 duellist who is rather item-dependant. Conqueror is the perfect choice for his as it gives you a huge boost to your offensive game that pays off during long trades. With Gathering Storm, you'll be an unstoppable threat in the late game.

Spirit Walker will give you resistances to slows, letting you stick to you targets like an unrelenting monster.

Finally, Mastermind will help you snowball off taking down towers in the side lanes, as Jax is a very strong splitpusher.

Skills

Here is the best Skill Order for Jax. Max out his abilities as outlined below, but make sure you rank up his ultimate whenever you can.

Note: from Level 1-3, you need to first put a point in Counter-Strike, then Leap Strike, and finally Empower, which you should then prioritise.

Main Items

The items you buy will vary from game to game, depending on the composition of the enemy team. We've put together a list of the best items for Jax, ranked by their effectiveness. Items in bold are must-have purchases that you'll pick up in the vast majority of your games.

1. Trinity Force

2. Blade of the Ruined King

3. Sterak's Gauge

4. Death's Dance

5. Guardian Angel

Tips and Tricks

  • Empower works as an auto-attack reset. Mastering the auto>Empower>auto combo will ensure you come out on top during early-game trades.
  • Activating Coutner Strike then jumping to an enemy with Leap Strike — to stun your opponent as soon as you land on them — will catch out any opponents who are reluctant to use their flash.
