What is a "Patrol" in Dauntless? Well, nothing complicated as it's only a special quest which differs from a simple hunt. Indeed, alone or as a team, patrols give you the opportunity to hunt a random Behemoth from the type of your choice. There is a lot of rewards to grab thanks to patrols, especially since daily bonuses are awarded to quests if you succeed them.
There are currently 8 types of patrols:
- Neutral Patrol (threat lvl: 3-5)
- Blaze Patrol (threat lvl: 4-7)
- Frost Patrol (threat lvl: 4-7)
- Shock Patrol (threat lvl: 5-7)
- Terra Patrol (threat lvl: 3-6)
- Dire Patrol (threat lvl: 8-12)
- Heroic Patrols (threat lvl: 13-16)
- Heroic+ Patrols (threat lvl: 17)
Each patrol will award you with different rewards that we will describe below. Knowing that daily bonuses are, for now, always the same: 10 orbs whose type will depend on the patrol you complete.
For instance, if you start a Blaze Hunt, the daily bonus will grant you 10 Blaze Orbs as you finish the quest.
Neutral Patrol
Neutral Patrols will allow you to randomly hunt behemoths that feed themselves on the power of raw aether: Gnasher, Quillshot or Shrike. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Neutral Orb (10)
- Dashleaf (4)
- Wrathwort (4)
- Rams (200)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Neutral Orb (10)
Blaze Patrol
Blaze Patrols will allow you to randomly hunt behemoths that feed themselves on the power of blaze aether: Embermane, Charrog or Hellion. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Blaze Orb (10)
- Skybloom (4)
- Ironthistle (4)
- Rams (200)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Blaze Orb (10)
Frost Patrol
Frost Patrols will allow you to randomly hunt behemoths that feed themselves on the power of frost aether: Boreus, Skraev or Pangar. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Forst Orb (10)
- Slayer's Boon (4)
- Heart Lily (4)
- Rams (200)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Frost Orb (10)
Shock Patrol
Shock Patrols will allow you to randomly hunt behemoths that feed themselves on the power of shock aether: Nayzaga, Stormclaw or Drask. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:

- Slayer's Boon (4)
- Skybloom (4)
- Rams (200)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Shock Orb (10)
Terra Patrol
Terra Patrols will allow you to randomly hunt behemoths that feed themselves on the power of terra aether: Skarn, Kharabak or Koshai. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:

- Wrathwort (4)
- Rams (200)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Terra Orb (10)
Dire Patrol
Dire Patrols are a bit different from other ones mentioned above, as they have a higher level and will allow you to hunt behemoths of dire power. Among them, you can face the "Dire" versions of Gnasher, Shrike, Quillshot, Embermane, Charrogg, Hellion, Boreus, Pangar, Nayzaga, Skarn and Kharabak, but also Koshai, Valomyr et Riftstalker. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Dull Arcstone (10)
- Omnistone (2)
- Phoenix Opal (2)
- Rams (240)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Dull Arcstone (10)
Heroic Patrol
Heroic Patrols have a higher level than Dire Patrols, as they will put your slayer skills through the mill while allowing you to hunt behemoths of heroic power. Among them, you can face the "Heroic" versions of Riftstalker, Valomyr, Gnasher, Shrike, Quillshot, Embermane, Charrogg, Hellion, Boreus, Pangar, Nayzaga, Skarn, Kharabak and Koshai. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Shining Arcstone (10)
- Omnistone (2)
- Phoenix Opal (2)
- Rams (320)
- Daily Bonus Reward: Shining Arcstone (10)
Heroic+ Patrol
Heroic+ Patrols seem to be the maximum level of patrols within the game. They will require a high level of skill and gear to be completed. Behemoths included in this type of hunt have a threat level above 17. And they won't give you any break!
You will face the same behemoths included within Heroic Patrols, but you will also be able to hunt the Umbral and Radiant types behemoths: Shrowd and Rezakiri. The following rewards are up for grabs once the patrol is over:
- Peerless Arcstone (10)
- Omnistone (2)
- Phoenix Opal (2)
- Rams (400)
- Daily Patrol Bonus Rewards: Peerless Arcstone (20)
