The Frost Islands of Monster Hunter Rise have more surprises in store for you. If you're looking for collectibles, get yourself the juiciest steaks and head to the snowy locale, where you'll discover ten hidden messages.
Rewards
Collecting the ten Old Messages will only get you a few Kamura Points, and some furniture to decorate your room. If you're feeling up to it though, here's our guide!
Old Message 1
- The first one is located in area 7. Just climb the large rock pillar in the center of the frozen lake and look for it near the altar.
Old Message 2
- Go to area 1. Climb the big tree just west of the starting camp, and you'll find the Old Message on one of the highest branches. Be sure to take your time before launching your Wirebug.
Old Message 3
- Located between the 4th and 5th areas on your map, look for a cave carved into the rock behind the Honey Tree. The hidden passage will lead you to the treasure — the third Old Message.
Old Message 4
- If you have just acquired the third Old Message, another is waiting for you. Go a little further north between areas 4 and 5, and look for a small passage that'll lead you to a hidden room. The message is right next to an altar.
Old Message 5
- Go to the Melynx hideout above area 5 on your map. There, you will find a snowman next to a wall. Blow it up with a bomb and you'll obtain a new message.
Old Message 6
- The sixth Old Message is located just above the number eight on your map. Climb all the way to the top of the wrecked ship's mast, and you'll find a crow's nest with the message.
Old Message 7
- In the underground part of the map, look for a cave in area 9 to obtain this new secret message. Take the path to the north to make sure you get there.
Old Message 8
- Along the edge of the map at the very east (in area 5), search for a small hidden crevice. Go in and get the loot!
Old Message 9
- This one will require a lot of patience. Go all the way north of area 9, climb the ice pillar and make sure to use your Wirebug when necessary. You will have to jump a lot on the way.
Old Message 10
- In the very north of area 12, the tenth Old Message is located on a high ledge. You will need to use your Wirebug to climb the wall.
