Diablos is the terror of the desert plains in Monster Hunter Rise. This big monster may be a herbivore, he is extremely territorial and aggressive. Killing him will prove to be a difficult challenge for many Hunters.

The Fight Against Diablos
Although he's able to fly, Diablos will never take flight during the fight. Its main attack is a very powerful charge in a straight line: you will either have to avoid it by moving fast enough or by rolling. A good way to exploit this attack is to place yourself in front of obstacles like rock pillars or termite mounds, which will block him for a few seconds. Destroying the termite mounds will cause quicksand to appear in which Diablos will be stuck for a long time.
You can also place traps to cause him heavy damage. Diablos has a very powerful roar that will stun you for many seconds. The most dangerous part of Diablos is his tail which ends with a huge club. He likes to sweep the area behind him and to the sides twice. To avoid it, you need either good timing or an approach from the front. Fortunately, since he is very large, you can easily take refuge under him to attack him.
His tail is both high and armored, which makes it quite difficult to cut. You have to aim at the flesh and not the bone part if you want to inflict damage.
His head is also armored as long as the horns are not broken. Barrels of explosives or a high level of sharpness will help to get rid of it.
The most fearsome attack of Diablos is its underground charge. Diablos will bury himself and then move towards you before popping up under your feet, inflicting absurd damage and able of killing you instantly. To avoid this, you either have to run very fast, block, roll, or dive at the right moment. The best solution, however, is to use a Sound Bomb, which will cancel his attack and make him stand out while stunning him for many seconds. Doing this will give you another opportunity to attack.
