Everybody's favourite rock crab, Crustle is a solid addition to any team in Pokémon Unite, especially when you need a tank to take the brunt of a skirmish.

Our guide helps you understand Crustle's moveset and choose the best abilities as you level up, as well as suggest the best Held Items and Battle Items to equip.

You'll start the battle as Dwebble, evolving into Crustle at Level 4.

Crustle: Item Choices

These are the items we recommend equipping on Crustle before you head into battle.

Be mindful that you can equip up to three Held Items and one Battle Item. All stats are based on items being Level 1, without having been upgraded.

Held Items

Leftovers

HP +16 (240)
HP Recover 0 (9)

When the Pokémon is not in combat, it recovers 1% of its max HP every second.

Aeos Cookie

HP +8 (+240)

When the Pokémon scores a goal, its max HP increases by 100.

Rocky Helmet

HP +18 (+270)
Defense 0 (+42)

When the Pokémon receives a certain amount of damage, damage is dealt to nearby opposing Pokémon equal to 3% of those Pokémon's max HP.

Battle Item

Eject Button

Cooldown: 55 seconds

Quickly moves your Pokémon in the designated direction.

Given Crustle is a tank, its build should reflect that. Both Leftovers and Rocky Helmet are ideal items for tanks, giving both sustain at the last and splashing back damage onto its attackers. You shouldn't fear heading into a group of enemies to initiate a team battle. In the early game, when teams are trading goals. the Aeos Cookie will help add to that extreme tankiness for later.

When the going gets a bit too tough, the Eject Button battle item is essential in getting away so you can heal up. It's also great for closing the gap to a fleeing enemy.

Crustle Gameplay

Crustle: Starting Attack

Fury Cutter

Cooldown: 3.5 seconds

Slashes opposing Pokémon with claws, dealing damage to then. Hitting the same opposing Pokémon multiple times in succession with this move increases the damage dealt.

Fury Cutter is probably the best of the starting moves, as it allows you to pick up a few Wild Pokémon and give a bit in early trades with enemies.

Crustle: Best Moves

The idea with this moveset is that you're more mobile than the enemy might anticipate, and can lock down enemies with greater ease. X-Scissor is a great gap-closer to initiate battles, especially if you can knock them into a wall. Shell Smash, on the other hand, ramps up your attack and speed at the cost of defense, aiding your kiting ability.

Shell Smash

Cooldown: 7 seconds

Has the smash their shell, converting a set percentage of Defense and Sp. Def into Attack and Sp. Atk and increasing the user's movement speed for a short time.

Upgrade at Level 11: Increases the move's conversion rate.

X-Scissor

Cooldown: 8 seconds

Has the user dash forward with crossed claws, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon multiple times and shoving them. Leaves opposing Pokémon unable to act if they hit an oject when shoved.

Upgrade at Level 13: Reduces this move's cooldown.

Crustle: Passive Ability

Sturdy

Every time the Pokémon loses a certain amount of HP, its Defense and Sp. Def are increased.
