An iconic member of the Pokémon Unite roster, Charizard is a solid All-Rounder for any team comp. You can pick it up as your free Pokémon for completing the tutorial, or purchase it in the store for 6,000 Aeos Coins or 345 Aeos Gems.

Our guide helps you understand Charizard's moveset and choose the best abilities as you level up, as well as suggest the best Held Items and Battle Items to equip.

You'll start battles as Charmander, evolving into Charmeleon at Level 5 and Charizard at Level 9.

Charizard: Item Choices

These are the items we recommend equipping on Charizard before you head into battle.

Be mindful that you can equip up to three Held Items and one Battle Item. All stats are based on items being Level 1, without having been upgraded.

Shell Bell will allow for a degree of sustain, while X Attack will help you burst down enemies.

Charizard Gameplay

Charizard: Starting Attack

Flame Burst

Cooldown: 6 seconds

Attacks with a bursting flame, leaving opposing Pokémon burned.

The short cooldown of Flame Burst, as well as the added burn, is a solid choice for your opening move.

Charizard: Best Moves

Flamethrower

Cooldown: 7 seconds

Attacks with an intense blast of fire, leaving opposing Pokémon burned.

Upgrade at Level 11: Increased damage.

Flare Blitz

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Charges forward cloaked in fire, throwing opposing Pokémon. This also grants the user a shield.

Upgrade at Level 13: Also decreases the movement speed of opposing Pokémon for a short time when they are thrown by this move.

This build focuses on performing a DPS role with Charizard, to do as much damage as possible outside the frontline Attackers. Flamethrower can be used often thanks to the relatively short cooldown, while Flare Blitz has the added benefit of knocking enemy Pokémon and slowing their move speed.

Charizard: Passive Ability

Blaze

When the Pokémon is at half HP or less, its critical-hit rate is increased.
