Machamp is all about adding power to your Pokémon Unite roster. You can purchase it in the store for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.

Our guide helps you understand Machamp's moveset and choose the best abilities as you level up, as well as suggest the best Held Items and Battle Items to equip.

You'll start the match as Machop, evolving into Machoke at Level 5 and Machamp at Level 9.

Machamp: Item Choices

These are the items we recommend equipping on Machamp before you head into battle.

Be mindful that you can equip up to three Held Items and one Battle Item. All stats are based on items being Level 1, without having been upgraded.

Held Items

Float Stone

Attack +1.6
Movement Speed 0

Increases movement speed by 10% when the Pokémon is not in combat.

Muscle Band

Atk +1
Basic Atk Speed +0%

When basic attacks hit, the damage is increased by 1% of the opponent's opposing HP.

Focus Band

Def +2
Sp. Def 0

When the Pokémon drops to low HP, then each second for three seconds, it recovers 8% of the HP it had lost.

Battle Item

Eject Button

Cooldown: 55 seconds

Quickly moves your Pokémon in the designated direction.

Given Machamp is all about damage, the two band items are ideal. Muscle Band ramps up those basic attacks, while Focus Band offers plenty of sustain should your HP drop. Given its lack of natural mobility, Float Stone is great for getting back into the fight quickly.

The Eject Button is ideal for both closing gaps and getting out of the heat of battle to allow the Focus Band heal to go unchecked.

Machamp Gameplay

Machamp: Starting Attack

Bulk Up

Cooldown: 10 seconds

After using this move, the user becomes immune to hindrances for a short time, their movement speed and Attack are increased, and their basic attack speed is increased. The user's next basic attack also becomes a boosted attack.

Bulk Up gives you the chance to close gaps without succumbing to any crowd control in the early stages of the game, and is generally a better choice than the attack-only Karate Chop.

Machamp: Best Moves

Close Combat

Cooldown: 7 seconds

Unleashes a series of punches in the designated direction, dealing increased damage with the last punch. The user can move while using this move and becomes immune to hindrances.

Upgrade at Level 11: Deals increased damage to Pokémon that are affected by a status condition.

Submission

Cooldown: 11 seconds

The Pokémon's movement Speed is increased and it can't be stunned. Increases the damage of the next basic attack and knocks the opponent Pokémon back, making them unable to move. Increases Critical Hit and makes Basic Attacks faster for a short time

Upgrade at Level 13: Further increases critical-hit rate and increases basic attack speed.

This pairing is quite simply the strongest moves Machamp has the more you level up. Close Combat comes with immunity to crowd control while in use, while Submission is a huge temporary buff. The playstyle here is that you'll just relentlessly charge your enemies, pounding them until they fall.

Machamp: Passive Ability

Guts

Increases the Pokemon's Attack when the Pokemon is afflicted by a status condition.
