As you progress through Final Fantasy XIV's story the first trial you will have to clear is Zodiark and just as the normal mode is not that hard, you could be surprised at how easy the extreme mode is.
But before going in the arena and fight this primordial you will first need to unlock the extreme difficulty and here's how you can do just that.
FFXIV unlocking Zodiark Extreme
To unlock this trial you will need to head to Old Sharlayan and talk to the Wandering Minstrel located at X: 12.7 Y: 14.3. This is not really a quest as you will simply need to talk the npc.
Once that's done you will be able to enter the trial if you meet the following requirements:
- Play a level 90 class
- Reach 560 minimum item level
The trial is a eight players duty that can drop a few items.
FFXIV Zodiark Extreme Loot
While completing the duty you may loot:
- A Zodiark totem per kill (100% chance)
- 4 accessories for random classes (100% chance)
- The Zodiark extreme exclusive lynx mount
- An orchestrion roll
- The crafting material for the bard and trophy
- The Triple Triad Card
