Mamoswine is a very tanky melee Defender in Pokémon Unite, available from the store for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.

Our guide helps you understand Mamoswine's moveset and choose the best abilities as you level up, as well as suggest the best Held Items and Battle Items to equip.

You'll start the battle as Swinub, evolving into Piloswine at Level 5 and Mamoswine at Level 9.

Mamoswine: Item Choices

These are the items we recommend equipping on Mamoswine before you head into battle.

Be mindful that you can equip up to three Held Items and one Battle Item. All stats are based on items being Level 1, without having been upgraded.

Held Items

Focus Band

Def +30
Sp. Def +30

When the Pokémon drops to low HP, then each second for three seconds, it recovers 8% of the HP it had lostWhen the Pokémon drops to low HP, then every second for three seconds it regains 2% of the HP it lost.

Buddy Barrier

HP +600

When the Pokémon uses its Unite Move, that Pokémon and the nearby ally Pokémon with the lowest HP are each granted a shield equal to 20% of their max HP.

Razor Claw

Attack +1
Critical-Hit Rate +0.6%

After the Pokémon uses a move, it’s next basic attack deals (10/15/20 + 40%/45%/50% Attack) additional damage. While this item is held by a melee Pokémon, this basic attack also slows enemies for 2 seconds (2s cooldown).

Battle Item

Eject Button

Cooldown: 55 seconds

Quickly moves your Pokémon in the designated direction.

Mamoswine is the epitome of bruiser in Pokemon Unite. It's a tank that very much needs to be on the frontline, so it can soak up the attention and apply its crowd-control moves.

To aid in this, the Focus Band and Buddy Barrier are both essential tank items, that will help in its survivability in hectic teamfights.

The Razor Claw synergizes particularly with Mamoswine's passive of Mammochon, especially because it is based on basic attacks. The slow applied can aid in chasing down fleeing enemies.

As with most Pokémon, the Eject Button is an essential disengage tool.

Mamoswine Gameplay

Mamoswine: Starting Attack

Ice Shard

Cooldown: 7 seconds

Hurls 3 chunks of ice at the designated location, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. If an enemy is hit by all three chunks, they're left frozen for a short time.

A starter with a relatively short cooldown, Ice Shard is an offensive move which is both useful in clearing neutral camps quickly and managing initial lane skirmishes.

Mamoswine: Best Moves

Icicle Crash

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Drops icicles on the designated location, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. The final icicle shatters after a set amount of time or when hit by Mamoswine's other moves or boosted attacks, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and leaving them frozen. If the icicle is shattered by Tackle or High Horsepower, the ground is covered in ice, which increases the movement speed of allies that run over it. The next basic attack is boosted.

Level 11: The final icicle leaves enemies hit unable to act for a short time.

High Horsepower

Cooldown: 8 seconds

Mamoswine rushes recklessly in the designated direction, dealing damage to enemies they hit and shove them. Mamoswine then stomps their feet, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and leaves them unable to act for a short time. This stomping deals increased damage to frozen enemies.

Level 13: Increases the reckless rush's speed and the length of time enemies are left unable to act.

Mamoswine is an excellent choice for controlling the lane pre-7, with both Ice Shard and Icicle Crash hindering enemy movement.

However, Mamoswine really shines when it learns Heavy Horsepower, a fantastic move that allows it to charge the enemy pack and unleash a rain of ice-based CC.

Remember to stick to enemies as much as possible, so that Mamoswine's passive can be used to maximum effect.

Mamoswine: Passive Ability

Thick Fat

When Mamoswine deals damage, Defense and Sp. Def are increased for 3s, stacking up to 3 times. When Mamoswine uses Ice Shard, Icicle Crash or Ice Fang, the next basic attack is boosted. If any of these moves creates a freezing area of effect inside an ally goal zone, the goal-scoring speed of enemies is decreased.
