For several years now, the chance of a Shiny Pokémon appearing in the wild has been 1/4096. This is also the case in Pokémon Legends Arceus which also allows you to see the shiny directly in the overworld. However, it is possible to increase the chances of appearance thanks to several methods available on the game.
Note that all Legendary, Fabulous and fixed Pokémon (starter given at the beginning for example) of the game are shiny locked: meaning that it is impossible to obtain them in chromatic version.
First method: increase the research level of the Pokémon
This method can be applied very quickly at the start of the adventure since you just need to reach Research level 10 for the Pokémon you want to get in shiny. Indeed, if you complete Chaglam's Pokédex Tasks, for example, and you reach level 10 of his Pokédex Page, you will then have twice the chance of finding his chromatic version.
- Level 10 searches on the Pokédex Page : 1/2048 chance of finding the shiny version
- Perfect research level (all tasks completed) : 1/1024 chance of finding the shiny version
Of course, this rate can be further reduced greatly with Shiny Charm.
Obtain the Shiny Charm
This object well known to shiny hunters is obviously present in Pokémon Legends Arceus. To obtain it, you will have to reach level 10 of the Pokédex Page of all the Pokémon present in Hisui (there are 242 of them).
Important information : Pokémon that spawn in an area (Obsidian Plains for example) are spawned the moment you leave the village. If you want to refresh the Pokémon spawns, you must therefore return to the village and then go back to the area (and not spend the time at the bivouac for example).
Second method: Mass Spawn
This feature is unlocked quite early in the game: after calming down Chopper normally. The Village Guard will warn you each time there is a Massive Spawn: just look where it is on the map and whether you like it or not.
On site, you can then capture or KO between 10 and 15 Pokémon of the same species . It is therefore normal that the massive appearance stops after a while, do not worry. The creatures appear in groups of 4 : each time you eliminate or capture one, another spawns in its place.

Of course, if you already benefit from a higher chance rate thanks to the Pokédex Page at level 10, the rate in Mass Appearance will increase to 1/152 for example. 1/141 if your Page is perfect and 1/137 with Chromatic Charm (which implies level 10).
The best chance of obtaining a shiny is therefore 1/128 if you have the Chroma Charm, the perfect Pokédex Page of the Pokémon and you go to Massive Appearance of the latter.
