This dear Darth Sidious will probably give you a hard time in LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga. Not only will you meet him several times during the different trilogies, but above all you will have to face him with several characters. Here's everything we know, so far, about Palpatine. How to unlock the Palpatine character in the game?
Like most Villains and Siths in this game, you'll unlock Palpatine after completing the Episode III Boss fight. However, several costumes/versions of Palpatine are available:
- Senator Palpatine (from Episode I)
- Chancellor Palpatine Gray (from Episode II)
- Chancellor Palpatine Red (from Episode III)
- Palpatine with scars (from episode IV)
- The Emperor (Episode IX)
Note that one of the game's cheat codes allows you to get Palpatine directly into your game from the start of the game.
The fights against Palpatine
Battle in Coruscant
The first big fight against Palpatine takes place in Episode III on Coruscant. You then embody Yoda and must resist the chancellor during several distinct phases:
- In the first room, you must redirect Palpatine's lightning beam at him (with a gamepad, move your left stick until the target is on him). Remember to dodge the other rays and not to touch it when it is surrounded by lightning,

You will then go to the large Senate conference room with the flying seats. Many times you will need to switch characters to pull certain levers and pursue the Chancellor.
Here are the missions that must be completed in the Senate Showdown level:
- Dazzling Demonstration: Use the lights to blind Palpatine,
- Warning ! : Drop a droid on Palpatine's head
- Return to the Senator: Interrupt Palpatine's Force Lightning spin attack by reflecting his own Force Lightning back at him.
Fight at Exegol
In Episode IX, the final fight against Emperor Palpatine is quite simple: you have to press the keys on your keyboard or your controller (QTE) at the right time. However, it is the passages before this fight that are a little more complex (fight against the Knights of Ren and level with Finn on the ship). Here are the missions to complete in the Be with me level:
- Explo-Sith: Use the environment to defeat Sith Jet Troopers
- Inbound: Take no damage from Sith TIE Fighters while on an Orbak
- Shrug: Defeat the Knights of Ren as Ben Solo, without getting destroyed.
