Tower of Fantasy is available since August 11, 2022 and this new gacha game lets you experience a futuristic open-world adventure with an MMORPG aspect. Your goal is therefore not only to explore the different regions, to complete quests but also to summon characters and improve them. On ToF, the summoning system is a bit special and allows you to actually obtain weapons with various rarity levels: N - R - SR - SRR. Attached to these weapons are characters called Simulacrums only for SR and SSR rarities. Today, we're looking more specifically at Pepper and her Staff of Slash weapon.
Pepper: Presentation of the SR and banner
Pepper is part of the game's permanent banner (obtainable with Golden Nuclei - you get a guaranteed SR every 10 summons) but you also have a low chance of getting it on the very first temporary banner in the game (Nemesis) , which lasts from August 11, 2022 (game launch) to August 31, 2022, as well as on the purple banner.
- Gender : Female
- Height : 160cm
- Birthday date : July 9 (Cancer)
- Japanese voice : Mamiko Noto (Nodoka in Negima among others)
- English voice : Kayli Mills (Keqing in Genshin Impact)
Pepper's skin
Unlike 5-Star Simulacrums (SSRs), SRs only have one skin and cannot unlock another one based on Awakening progression.
Favorite gifts to give him
Each SSR and SR character in Tower of Fantasy has an Awakening Level that can be improved by completing the story quest and also by giving them gifts.

Staff of Slashes: Introducing Pepper's SR Weapon
Information and how to get it?
- Resonance (role): Support
- Element: Lightning
- Fracture: 4.00
- Refill: 10.00
- Base Attack: 10
- HP: 753
- Resistance: 5
Slash Staff weapon effects
- Lightning : When weapon is fully charged, next attack Paralyzes targets for 1 second and Electrifies them for 6 seconds, removing all buffs and dealing damage equal to 106.00% ATK. Targets can no longer receive buffs for the next 6 seconds.
How is Pepper/Scar Staff played and with whom/what weapon?
Pepper is an outstanding healer who on the other hand depends on her first progression for reliable healing, due to her skill with a long cooldown. That said, as it's an SR, you won't have too much trouble getting a few progress stars on it in order to turn it into a much better healer than a simple starless Cocoritter for example.
- Its strengths : if you max Pepper up to 6 stars, you will get the best healer in the game who can heal at a distance (and in the area), reduce the damage received by allies or even cancel the effects of CC. To start, Pepper is an excellent character whether solo with your own team of 3 weapons or in multiplayer.
- Her weak points : Pepper's main role being healing, she will therefore provide very little damage. That's why you have to design a team with high damage like Samir and take advantage of the Lightning elemental resonance with Nemesis.
Progression: how to improve Staff of the scars?
The 6 star levels
Each SR and SSR weapon can progress up to a 6-star level. Initially, your weapon will be at 0 stars and you will therefore have to improve it 6 times to reach the maximum level, but this means that you will have to obtain the same weapon 7 times to improve it.
- 1★: Heals all teammates within 10 yards for 100% ATK after using a dodge skill.
- 2★: Increase base HP growth of current weapon by 10%.
- 3★: Normal attacks also fire two missiles, each dealing damage equal to 5% ATK to the target and restoring 5 Weapon Charge.
- 4★: Increase base HP growth of current weapon by 20%.
- 5★: Increases weapon charge gain speed by 20% (not applicable to missile attacks).
- 6★: Grants all teammates within range of the skill 60% damage reduction and immunity to crowd control effects.
The necessary upgrade materials
In addition to improving the stars of your weapon, you can also strengthen it and increase it up to 4 times. Be careful, this costs materials but also Gold and sometimes requires having the right level of adventure. For Staff of Scars, you will need the following materials:
All SR weapon skills Slash Staff
Normal
- Normal attack : While on the ground, use the weapon to attack 5 times in a row.
- Air Barrage : While airborne, use normal attack to attack 5 times in a row.
- Moonfall : Use and hold normal attack while airborne to trigger Moonfall. On landing, deals damage once every 0.2 seconds, for a total of 57.2% ATK + 3 damage.
- Focused Attack : After the third normal attack, hold down the normal attack button to unleash branch attacks, consuming 300 stamina.
Dodge
- Dodge : Dodge just before being hit to activate a Fantasy, which reduces the speed of enemies in the area. Reload: 15 seconds. While dodging, you gain immunity to stuns for 0.5 seconds.
- Surge : Use the normal attack during the short perfect dodge window (hit an arrow key before dodging) to trigger Surge. Each wave of energy deals damage to targets equal to 22.6% ATK + 1. Grants 75 Weapon Charge when used.
- Tesseract : Use normal attack for the short period after dodging to trigger Evasive Blast. Fires an orb of energy forward, dealing 32.1% ATK + 2 damage to targets in its path every 0.3 seconds (up to 5 times). Grants 75 Weapon Charge when used.
Staff of Scars Special Skill
- Sanctuary : Creates an energy shield at the Explorer's location. Heals allies inside the shield for 81.7% ATK + 4 every second and reduces their damage taken by 3% for 10 seconds. 60 second cooldown.
Discharge (ultimate)
- Quick Deliver : When a weapon is fully charged or triggers Fantasy, switching from another weapon to that weapon removes all detrimental effects from the wielder, and the staff continues to remove detrimental effects from the Explorer and allies, while healing nearby allies for 79% x ATK + 4 HP for 7 seconds.
Recommended matrices
There are only 4 die slots to put on your weapon. A bit like artifacts, the matrices work in sets: the more pieces of the same set you put, the more the set in question grants bonuses. For Staff of Scars, it is recommended to put a Cocoritter 4-piece set on it to improve healing even more.
