Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to focus on Eric.
Presentation of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid
Warning: The Little Mermaid is an animated film released in 1989 and is inspired by the tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen, published in 1836. We are told the story of Ariel, daughter of King Triton and mermaid, who only dreams of one thing: to transform into a human to live on earth. She will meet the evil witch Ursula with whom she will make a deal: her beautiful voice against human legs. On earth, she will fall in love with Prince Eric without being able to tell him since she is mute now.
In the game, we find Ursula, Ariel and Eric!
Unlock Eric, his house and his rewards by friendship level
Eric is currently the most "difficult" character to unlock in the game. You will absolutely have to complete all of Ursula's quests and have advanced with Ariel in order to obtain her lost soul and start her own quests. This therefore also implies having completed the Mysterious Wreckage quest with Goofy.

In order to return Eric to human form, you will have to build his house (a magnificent palace) wherever you want.
Below are the rewards Eric gives you at each friendship level. Level 10 is the maximum you can reach. Then, it will no longer be useless to make him gain experience, but it will always be more advantageous to take him to accompany you on an excursion since his bonuses will be higher.
Like any other character, Eric will offer you to follow Story quests to advance the scenario but also Friendship quests.
Poor prince in perdition

When you complete Ursula's final friendship quest, you'll get Eric's Lost Soul. Your objective will be to return him to human form. Show the soul to Ariel then go ask Merlin for help. He will give you Eric's castle which you will have to place wherever you want in your kingdom. Be careful, you will have to pay 10,000 coins to build it.
Now go inside the castle to find Eric's flute on the table, below the map on the wall. Give it to Ariel who can then kiss Eric and restore him to human form . The prince will now be able to live in your kingdom and you will be able to talk to him, give him a gift and even assign him a profession unlike Ariel and Ursula.
Now alive, the prince would be extremely hungry and will ask you to cook the following recipes:
- Gazpacho : 1 Tomato + 1 Cucumber + 1 Onion + 1 Spice
- Vegetarian stew : 1 Onion + 1 Carrot + 1 Potato

Red fruit salad : 1 currant + 1 raspberry + 1 blueberry
Give everything to Eric then attend the conversation between Ariel and him to complete the quest.
Life begins for you and me
Friendship Quest 2 - Level 3
Eric will ask you to go talk to Maui. The objective will be to perform a shapeshifting enchantment so that Ariel can finally take human form and leave her mermaid tail. Be careful, this metamorphosis seems irreversible: make sure you agree that Ariel is no longer a mermaid.
For the enchantment, you will need the following materials:
- 5 White Impatiens (Forgotten Lands)
- 5 Purified Nightshards (via your workbench, mix Nightshards and Dreamshards)
- 1 empty vial (you need glass and therefore sand)
Then concoct the transfiguration enchantment via your workbench in the "functional items" tab (yes it's weird). Then bring the freshly obtained fish viscera oil to Remy. He will need other ingredients in order to craft a bait:
- 4 Garlic (found in the Forest of Courage)
- 4 Onion (purchased from Goofy's stand in the Forest of Courage)
- 1 Cavalos (can be fished in the Forgotten Lands - blue bubble circle)

1 Crab (can be fished in the Frozen Heights - blue bubble circle)
Bring the ingredients to Remy to make the bait then open your inventory to attach it to your fishing rod.
Now go to the Enchanted Beach where the river meets the ocean (at the bridge) to fish in the red circle and capture a Nautilus . Return to Eric to have him craft a nautilus pendant for Ariel. Bring it to the princess to take on human form.
Back on the waves
Friendship Quest 3 - Level 7
Eric will want to go back in search of treasures by sailing on the waves. Go talk to Scrooge to collect Sea Maps and give them to the prince. Then bring the broken compass to Wall-E so he can fix it. Now you will need to craft a Dreamlight magnet with the following materials:
- 4 iron ingots
- 6 Crafting Pieces (requires Iron Ingots via the Workbench)

8 crystals (found by mining rocks in the Forgotten Lands)
Craft the magnet via your workbench in the "functional items" tab.
Give the magnet to Wall-E to repair the compass and give it to Eric. Join him now in his palace: he has opened a cartography booth that allows you to buy unique building plans! By purchasing them, you will unlock blueprints directly in your workbench.
The mystical crystal
Friendship Quest 4 - Level 10
Eric will ask you to go talk to Merlin to investigate a mystical crystal. You will need to gather 5 Purified Nightshards and 10 Crystals for the magician to do an enchantment on the Mythic Compass. Then give it to Eric who will want to make a spacesuit:
- 20 Cloths (you will need a lot of Cottons: buy the seeds at the Sunny Plateau and grow them there to make it faster)
- 15 iron ingots
- 8 glasses (need sand)
- 5 gold bars (gold is mostly found by mining in the Sunshine Plateau or the Forgotten Lands)
Thanks to this, Eric will have upgraded his mapping booth where you can buy a new DIY blueprint.
