Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to look at the rarest fish in the game.
Fugu: how to get it easily?
The Fugu is probably the rarest fish in the game since it only spawns under certain conditions. Much like the Coelacanth in Animal Crossing New Horizons, the Fugu can only be fished when it's raining or there's a storm! Once the weather is on your side, go to the Enchanted Beach and locate the red bubble circles. This is where the Fugu hides. Be careful though, its spawn rate remains low and you will have a better chance of coming across a Swordfish.
To maximize your chances of getting Fugu:
- Bring a level 10 character with you so the profession is Fishing : this will give you a chance of getting 2 Fugu instead of 1,
- Upgrade Moana's fishing boat to the maximum so that she brings you rare fish (and sometimes a Fugu),

Do not hesitate to wait on the Beach until it rains, the weather conditions in the game change very quickly.
If you miss the fish in the red circle: don't worry, you can try your luck again because it doesn't run away.
Walleye: the uncapturable fish
Currently, the Sunny Plateau seems buggy and it is impossible to catch any fish there. The only solution, while waiting for the Lion King update in the fall, is to upgrade Moana's boat to the maximum in order to have a chance of obtaining the Walleye. Regarding the other fish of the Sunny Plateau, they are available elsewhere so don't worry: Salmon and Tilapia can be caught in the Frozen Heights for example, Perch and Carp in the Forest of Courage.
Other rare fish
Fugu and Walleye are the only two fish that will really give you a hard time in Disney Dreamlight Valley pending future updates. That said, other fish are considered rare. It is quite simply the fish that are caught in the red/golden circles and which can then be sold at a high price. If you catch any, remember to keep 1 or 2 copies in a chest so that you can cook special recipes.
Also, most rare fish are popular food for critters so guard them well.
