Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to focus on Donald Duck.
Introducing Donald Duck
It was in 1934 that the character of Donald Duck was created in the Disney studios, with the aim of counterbalancing that of Mickey, with his grumpy character. Unfortunately, the importance of Donald will fade little by little, in particular because of his uncle Scrooge. In the game, Donald lives in his famous boat called Daisy (his lover) and seems to be the victim of a bug (in early access) which constantly angers him.
Unlock Donald, his house and his rewards by friendship level
Donald is a very special character to unlock. You will need to clear the path to the Forest of Courage and start the "Lost in the Dark Grove" quest with Kristoff before you can meet the duck. Only after Kristoff 's quest is complete will you be able to welcome Donald into your Kingdom and fix his house for him.

Donald's house is the boat in the water (Enchanted Beach) that you will need to repair before he can live there.
Below are the rewards Donald gives you at each friendship level. Level 10 is the maximum you can reach. Then, it will no longer be useless to make him gain experience, but it will always be more advantageous to take him to accompany you on an excursion since his bonuses will be higher.
As for Donald's favorite gifts , know that he really appreciates fish and flowers: make sure that these objects are one of his 3 favorite daily gifts, but in general, they come up often.
Like any other character, Donald will offer you to follow friendship quests to advance the scenario and raise his level.
A house fit for a duck

As specified above, only after unlocking the Forest of Courage and Kristoff will you be able to access Donald's first quest. Once freed from the parallel world of the Forest, Donald will come to your village and you will have to help him repair his house . To do this, go talk to Scrooge in his store. You will need:
- 16 softwood
- 8 hardwood
- 2 iron ingot

4 rope (with fiber and therefore algae)
Then use the workbench to build the boat repair kit in the "functional items" tab. Give everything to Donald then use Scrooge's construction panel in front of the boat to start the repair.
You will then have to clean up the inside of the boat by picking up 4 objects on the ground : Donald's reward, the Pitcher, the book and the mysterious bric-a-brac. One of the trophies may be stuck in the background and prevent you from completing the quest. Unfortunately, no correction of this bug has been made by the developers for the moment: you have to be patient until a patch is deployed.
A dispute that smells of fish
Friendship Quest 2 - Level 4
You must have unlocked the Sunny Plateau to access this new quest. Go talk to Donald and put on the fishing outfit from your wardrobe. Then go to the Beach and catch 10 fish in the ocean. Follow Donald to another spot on the beach to catch a catfish in the red circle—a time capsule will pop out!
Open your inventory to use it and discover an Image Fragment.
Now go to the Sunny Plateau and find another capsule buried in the earth near the bones.
The forgotten project
Friendship Quest 3 - Level 6
Tell Merlin about the time capsules found by Donald. You will then have to help him concoct an enchantment with the following flowers:
- 2 yellow bromeliads (Sunny Plateau)
- 3 Pink Houseleeks (Sunny Tray)
- 2 White Milkweed (Bayou of Confidence)
- 3 Blue Hydrangeas (Enchanted Beach)
- 1 empty vial (to be crafted via your workbench using sand)
Give the enchantment to Merlin and open the capsule in your inventory to discover a new part of the image with a map and red crosses. Go to the Sunny Plateau to find the 3 blue crate-shaped souvenirs . Go ask Mickey for his Amplifier and then use it on the crates.
The Dreamlight Fountain
Friendship Quest 4 - Level 10
You must unlock the Forgotten Lands to access this quest. Follow Donald to the encampment on Sunny Plateau after talking to him. If you dig around a bit, you'll find a scroll on the ground. Now go to the Forgotten Lands to find another campsite: dig in the sequin hole in front of the table to find the instructions for building the Dreamlight fountain.
And it's off again for a quest asking to collect some materials:
- 35 stones
- 5 iron ingots
- 18 land (dig into the ground)
- 8 hardwood

Then make the fountain yourself via your workbench in the "furniture" tab and find Donald near the Forgotten Land Goofy stand. He will ask you to place a garland not far from the fountain.
