Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we're going to take a look at Maui's Friendship Quest.
Bury the Eel: Maui's Quest
Now that you have brought Vaianna and Maui from their kingdom to your village, new quests are available. For Maui, you must have reached level 2 of progression before you can start the mission "bury the eel". Your objective will be to bury an eel in the sand in order to grow a coconut tree (don't look for any particular reason, he's a demigod).

After talking to Goofy, Maui will ask you to find 3 Worms and 8 Softwood . Wood can be found on the ground in Bayou of Confidence or Forest of Courage quite easily. For earthworms, you will have to bring your shovel and dig in the sparkling holes at the edge of the water (either at the edge of the beach or at the edge of the ponds).
Craft a trap and place it in the water near the Jetty
Once the resources are gathered, go to a Workbench then go to the " Furniture " tab to craft the Trap requested by Maui. Now go to the left part of the Enchanted Beach and more specifically to the edge of the wooden pontoon (next to Goofy's stand). Open your inventory and place the piece of furniture directly in the water. This will have the effect of attracting eels around.
Catch an eel
Now that you have placed the trap in the water, wait a few seconds before you see a bubbled red circle appear on the surface of the water. Take out your fishing rod and catch the eel like any other fish . Then show the eel to Maui then dig a hole in the sand with your shovel: you will be able to "plant" the eel like a common seed.
A small sprout will then come out of the ground and it will have to be watered. Wait a few minutes: the plant will dry out and it will need to be watered again. Wait a few more minutes to see a pretty coconut tree grow. Collect the coconuts, give them to Maui and complete the quest.
Now, thanks to this mission, several coconut trees have grown on your beach and you will be able to collect coconuts regularly.
